Guadalupe  Saavedra

13 years old
Milwaukee, WI

I was born in Milwaukee, WI and I am of a Mexican backround. I am currently attending Middle School and when I grow up I hope to be a Lawyer and I would like to study art and photography. I have 5 brothers and one sister which I am very close to. Both my parents are together and have been married for 34 years.

My dreams

People running around,
screaming, and crying.
Children are scared
and teenagers panicking.
The bombs have been shot.
Bullets have been fired.
This is the effect of a sick man's desire.
My mind is being torn
my nephew has not even been born.
What will happen to my dreams,
my family, my friends.
Why has the peace been disturbed?
During this time
I have a sour taste of lime.
My heart cannot take this
the pain the fear,
I hope that the end is not near.
