Make Amends

Woke up this morning
What did I see?
A million crying babies
pointing their fingers at me

Born an American child
What does that mean?
To see a world suffering,
bonded to our slavery

Woke up the next morning
What did I see?
a million starving children
pointing their fingers at me

Come sit at my table.
Fill your bodies with health
Come if you are able-
together we'll share this wealth

The sun did rise this morning
It cut through the sky like a knife
I heard the calling begin again
for some quiet moonlight

All I want is brothers and sisters
All I want is lovers and friends
To stop this bloody history
Take the world to make amends

Anthem At War

Oh say can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly they nail
With their genocidal rifling

Whose sexless drones who drive cars
Through each perilous night
And the roadkill they watch
Were so frequently bleeding

And the rockets red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Each end of the world scare
And that flag was still there

Oh say does that car strangled freeway yet rage?
With the slaughter of the land
They make a home for another grave
