And he Lands in a Place

He leaves the ground
at oh eight hundred tomorrow
and while you shatter
into pieces of childhood
he is among the clouds,
cramped in a seat
next to ten thousand
who wear the same shirt
and whisper their fears
to no one.
And while the world
is flooding with our worry,
the tin plane he sits in
kicks fire beneath his folded hands
and he lands in a place
far from your voice.
